QAZAQBOOKS by Kvadrat Architects

What does a retail project need to be shortlisted for the prestigious ADD AWARDS international professional award? The answer is in the interior concept by Kvadrat architects for the QAZAQBOOKS space.

In one location book store, mini-bar, place for reading and chamber events not only do not interfere, but complement each other. The owners of QAZAQBOOKS store have not limited themselves to the role of book sellers, they translate classic masterpieces and novelties of world literature into Kazakh, publish them and exhibit them in this conceptual environment. They organize book meetings with authors, soulful and fascinating thematic evenings.

Especially for this purpose, the interior was made more flexible and mobile: island constructions can be easily moved and free up space for art events.

Here time flows slowly or even stops. You can talk to a consultant, he will suggest the very book you can’t tear yourself away from. You can open it and read it right here, enjoying the story, style, delicious latte and interior at the same time.

The yellow color of the QAZAQBOOKS brand is reflected in the stainless steel panels and creates a gradient effect. The color of sun and energy is flecked into the shelving units, echoing the bar area and ceilings.

Despite the book shelving, the space doesn’t look cluttered. There is air and the right atmosphere in which it is pleasant to leisurely leaf through a book, choose a beautiful edition and stay in this place longer.
