Babayants Architects, known for their private residential projects, have completed their first commercial commission with the Bel Corpo Body Aesthetic Studio in Moscow. Spanning 1,614 square feet, this two-level wellness space embodies minimalism, sensuality, and natural inspiration, offering an immersive environment for relaxation and self-care.

Emotional Design for Self-Care

The client—an advocate of a healthy lifestyle and long-term collaborator with the studio—envisioned a space devoted entirely to body aesthetics and wellness. Babayants Architects translated this vision into an atmospheric interior defined by:

  • Round, flowing forms that evoke softness and femininity.

  • Warm monochromatic tones reminiscent of glowing skin.

  • Tactile plastered surfaces and textured stone floors that create intimacy.

  • Custom fiberglass furniture with glossy curves, contrasting matte finishes.

The result is a meditative, emotional space where visitors feel comfortable physically, emotionally, and visually.

Principles of Minimalism and Sensuality

In line with the studio’s philosophy—reducing design until only one emotion remains—the project centers on softness and natural beauty. Every element is essential, with nothing superfluous:

  • Walls, arches, and handrails are handmade in plaster.

  • Natural stone floors introduce grounding tactility.

  • Lighting is layered, with adjustable wall sconces and immersive backlighting.

  • Michael Anastassiades pendant lights in the atrium highlight the geometry while adding sculptural elegance.

Nature as Inspiration

Instead of decorative objects, stripped tree trunks act as sculptural elements, symbolizing the timeless strength of nature. On the atrium’s second level, dried grass imported from the Netherlands provides both visual texture and a fresh herbal fragrance, enhancing relaxation.

The oxygen capsule room, set against this grassy backdrop, adds a futuristic layer to the space—appearing almost like a space object within a natural landscape.

Functional Program

The studio is organized across two levels:

  • Ground Floor:

    • Atrium with reception, smoothie bar, and lounge zone

    • Men’s and women’s cloakrooms with showers

    • SPA facilities, power shower room, massage rooms

  • Upper Floor:

    • Oxygen capsule room

    • Additional massage and body care treatment rooms with private showers

    • Staff and utility areas

This functional clarity ensures that every corner of Bel Corpo enhances the overall journey of self-care.

A Landmark Wellness Space

As Babayants Architects’ first commercial project, Bel Corpo demonstrates the studio’s ability to carry their signature minimalist elegance into hospitality and wellness design. With its combination of natural materials, sensual forms, and symbolic gestures, the studio offers guests more than treatments—it provides a holistic experience of beauty, serenity, and presence.
