A Fresh Look at Sports Broadcasting
Maçkolik, one of Türkiye’s most established sports news and live score platforms, has entered the YouTube era with a purpose-built studio designed by BAB Architects. Led by Architect İrem Arıbaş and Interior Architect Hüseyin Beş, the practice combined architectural, interior, and broadcast design expertise to create a modern sports media environment that reflects the company’s identity and adapts to diverse programming needs.
Small Space, Big Vision
Located on the lower floor of Maçkolik’s headquarters, the studio occupies just 4.50 x 3.30 meters. Rather than seeing the compact footprint as a limitation, BAB Architects treated it as a design challenge—finding creative ways to enhance depth and flexibility.

Floor and ceiling: Black epoxy flooring grounds the space, while a custom-made circular light truss on the ceiling expands perception and emphasizes the studio’s professional character.

Visible equipment: Unlike conventional studios where lighting and cameras are hidden, here they are deliberately exposed, reinforcing a sense of authenticity and technical sophistication.
The result is a small but dynamic studio that maximizes visual impact for digital audiences.
Branding Through Design
The design highlights Maçkolik’s strong corporate identity while offering flexibility for different broadcast formats.

Brick walls evoke solidity and longevity, symbolizing the platform’s established presence in sports broadcasting.

RGB LED lighting washes the walls in Maçkolik’s corporate colors, adjustable to match different programs and moods.

Furniture palette: Warm seating for informal conversations contrasts with bar stools and tables that create a more energetic, debate-style setup.
This balance ensures the studio reflects both the heritage of the brand and the vibrancy of contemporary sports culture.
Flexibility for Content Creation
The Maçkolik YouTube Studio was designed to accommodate five distinct shooting configurations, ensuring adaptability for varied content formats:

Movable décor and surfaces with changeable color palettes, enhancing visual diversity across programs
This adaptability allows the studio to produce multiple shows with different visual identities—all within the same compact space.
