In Guangzhou, China, CUN DESIGN has created the RARA Whole-House Showroom, also known as the RARA Bamboo Yard—a 330 m² (3,558 sq ft) exhibition and office space that redefines the future of whole-house customization. Completed in 2023, the project blends functionality, aesthetics, and philosophy, turning a commercial showroom into a monumental yet human-centered design statement.

Squareness and Roundness: A Dual Philosophy

RARA’s design concept draws on an ancient Chinese maxim: “The way of heaven is round, the way of earth is square.”

  • Cuboids intersect with circular columns, producing a precisely measured design language.

  • Geometry becomes more than form—it symbolizes the duality of constancy and change.

  • The result is a space that feels sculptural, monumental, and yet deeply philosophical.

By breaking away from conventional rectilinear showroom layouts, CUN DESIGN crafts an aesthetic structure where order and beauty coexist.

Order and Freedom: Immersive Circulation

The showroom balances spatial order with experiential freedom:

  • A layout of squares and circles creates flexible, fluid circulation.

  • Visitors experience a sense of “lag” in time and space, encouraging slow exploration.

  • Transitions are designed as immersive encounters, where architecture becomes an active participant in storytelling.

This balance of order and autonomy makes the showroom both an exhibition hall and a functional office, suggesting the future of workplace design in the post-pandemic era—wireless, intelligent, mobile, and deeply humanized.

Bamboo Façade: Architecture Meets Nature

The showroom’s exterior is clad in horizontally arranged bamboo pieces:

  • Smooth lines and rhythmic patterns create natural monumentality.

  • Trees integrated into the façade become living focal points, infusing vitality into the architecture.

  • The minimalist exterior arouses curiosity, inviting visitors inside.

This fusion of bamboo and architecture reflects both sustainability and cultural symbolism, presenting RARA as a brand rooted in tradition yet oriented toward innovation.

Interiors: Customization as Art

Inside, light and shadow animate a gallery of customized living solutions:

  • Wardrobes, antique cabinets, wall displays, invisible doors—each integrated with precision.

  • A towering bookcase acts as both storage and partition, creating layered visual experiences.

  • The curved spatial framework offers contrasting perspectives of concealment and exposure.

Attention to refined detail and craftsmanship reflects RARA’s heritage in luxury whole-house customization, uniting function, elegance, and cultural resonance.

Beyond Showroom: A Philosophy of Living

The RARA showroom is more than a display of products—it is an architectural manifesto:

  • Breaking physical limits to create infinite experiential possibilities.

  • Merging practicality with artistic value in every corner.

  • Achieving deep integration of indoors and outdoors, where design flows seamlessly across boundaries.

For CUN DESIGN, the showroom represents a philosophical encounter with time and space. The intersection of squareness and roundness begins without end, suggesting timelessness in design.

Why This Project Matters

The RARA Whole-House Showroom demonstrates how architecture, philosophy, and brand identity can merge to create a new kind of exhibition environment. By embedding symbolic geometry, sustainable bamboo exteriors, and immersive circulation, CUN DESIGN elevates the showroom into a cultural experience that blends East and West, past and future.

It is both a platform for whole-house customization and a spatial essay on order, freedom, and timeless beauty—proving that even commercial architecture can embody profound meaning and artistic value.
