Nestled in one of Jaipur’s most elite residential colonies, Rampath Residence by Design Dual redefines multigenerational living through a masterclass in neo-minimalist architecture. Designed by Arjun Sara and Wamika Bansal, the 6,757 sq ft home is a thoughtfully layered sanctuary that caters to three generations under one roof, balancing individuality and unity with architectural precision.

A Vision of Multigenerational Harmony

The central challenge of the design was to create independent living spaces that still maintain a strong familial connection. Each of the three levels houses a separate two-bedroom unit—complete with private indoor and outdoor entertainment zones—ensuring autonomy while nurturing intergenerational bonding. Double-height volumes on every level introduce vertical visual connectivity, allowing the sense of togetherness to subtly echo throughout the home.

Neo-Minimalism: Simplicity with Soul

Rooted in neo-minimalist philosophy, the design embraces clarity, balance, and intentional contrast. The architecture is defined by straight lines, bold visual anchors, and a restrained material palette, reflecting both emotional depth and spatial sophistication. The existing structure was retained and thoughtfully reconfigured, ensuring structural feasibility while bringing in a contemporary, open-plan layout.

Material Palette and Sculptural Elements

Materials like brick, concrete, glass, and metal define the structure’s clean yet expressive identity. The façade features textured exterior-grade paint accentuated with black MS plate detailing, offering a subtle industrial edge. The entryway makes a sculptural statement with 60mm-thick vertical slabs of Indian black granite—a unique design element that acts as a visual cue for the home’s distinctive character.

Interiors That Breathe Calm and Character

Inside, a consistent grey-and-white palette is enhanced with bold black accents. Terrazzo flooring graces the terraces on the first and second floors, while square geometries add visual rhythm. Lighting plays a critical role—think expansive double-height glazing, C-shaped glass facades, and custom 8-foot drop lights—to create both a sense of drama and warmth.

A standout feature is the metal pergola on the second-floor terrace. Fabricated with angled metal plates in light, airy hues, it introduces a whimsical openness, transforming the terrace into a breezy retreat for reflection or gatherings.

Designed to Endure, Not Trend

Rampath Residence avoids ephemeral design trends in favor of enduring elegance. It is a home built with the foresight of evolution—designed to adapt to the growing and shifting needs of its inhabitants. With its timeless materiality, emotionally intelligent layout, and visual restraint, this home achieves a rare synthesis of intimacy and grandeur.
