The W Hotel Verbier, designed by the acclaimed Dutch studio Concrete Architectural Associates, redefines luxury alpine living. Opened in December 2013 as the first ski resort in the W Hotels portfolio, the hotel is nestled at the foot of the slopes in the heart of Verbier, Switzerland, offering true ski-in/ski-out access just steps from the Médran gondola.

This flagship alpine destination captures the essence of its surroundings while introducing a cosmopolitan design narrative that sets it apart from traditional mountain lodges.

Design Inspired by Movement and Contrast

The interiors of W Verbier draw inspiration from the sinuous motion of skis carving through snow, a metaphor that informs both the visual and tactile language of the space. Concrete Architectural Associates infused the interiors with bold contrasts—natural materials like timber and stone meet sleek glass, leather, and polished surfaces. The result is a striking blend of Swiss authenticity and New York sophistication, establishing a new benchmark for alpine hospitality.

“We wanted the interiors to echo the thrill of skiing while embracing the refined edge of urban life,” – Concrete Architectural Associates.

The hotel’s architectural layout features four interconnected chalet-style buildings, each built in traditional alpine wood but united through modern glass atriums that flood the interiors with natural light and provide panoramic mountain views.

123 Rooms of Elevated Comfort

W Verbier comprises 123 guest rooms and suites, each designed with a private fireplace and balcony, creating a seamless fusion of cozy alpine comfort and high-end luxury. Room interiors embrace neutral palettes punctuated by rich textures and ambient lighting, delivering an atmosphere of calm sophistication after a day on the slopes.

Signature Amenities

The resort is more than just a place to stay—it’s a lifestyle destination. Guests are welcomed into the W Living Room, a social hub redefining the traditional hotel lobby with contemporary flair. The Carve Bar offers après-ski indulgence with curated cocktails and mountain views, while the Away Spa provides a rejuvenating retreat with indoor/outdoor heated pools, saunas, and bespoke wellness treatments.

For skiers and snowboarders, W Verbier provides ski valet services, an in-house equipment shop, and easy access to Verbier’s vast 4 Vallées ski area, making it a top choice among international winter sports enthusiasts.
