The Bionica Villa in Moscow Region is a striking example of contemporary luxury living, completed in 2024. This 1,400 m² private residence merges advanced smart technologies with organic, flowing architecture. Designed by an expert team and brought to life through the creative direction of interior designer Ekaterina Yakovenko, the home embodies seamless harmony between interior, exterior, and landscape.
Vision and Architectural Philosophy
At the heart of the villa’s concept lies a pursuit of balance—between innovation and nature, technology and texture. The architecture features bionic curves that echo natural forms, creating a sense of movement throughout the structure. These motifs are reflected in everything from the building’s silhouette to its interior detailing.
From the earliest planning stages, the project emphasized an integrated approach. Interior design was conceived alongside architectural development to ensure coherence and continuity. The original brick façade was replaced with natural dolomite cladding, offering an elegant tactile consistency both inside and out.

Interior Design: Bionic Forms and Bespoke Luxury
“The goal was to create a sculptural experience of living,” explains Ekaterina Yakovenko, whose vision permeates every room. The color palette relies on soft neutrals, punctuated by a warm metallic bronze in the kitchen and terracotta accents in the living room via curated pieces by Turri and B&B Italia.
The home incorporates six varieties of natural stone, including:
-
Fior di Bosco marble for communal areas
-
Crystallo onyx by Henge on the ceiling
-
Rare granite and quartzite on the kitchen backsplash and fireplace
-
Dining table carved from uniquely patterned marble slabs, shaped to resemble a human foot—a nod to Da Vinci’s quote about its perfection
Artistic Flair and Textural Brilliance
Walls are finished with a custom matte, suede-like paint technique that softens surfaces and absorbs light. Brass details in a rich bronze finish frame bookshelves, wardrobes, and accent structures throughout the villa. This contrast of textures enhances the spatial rhythm.
Top-tier furnishings include:
-
Kitchen: Key Cucine
-
Sofas: Turri
-
Armchairs: B&B Italia
-
Dining sets: Ceppi, Poltrona Frau
-
Lighting: Emmemobili, Macrolux, Henge, Goccia, Aromas del Campo
A show-stopping Tree of Life sculpture by Fedor and Polina Abramov serves as a symbolic centerpiece, while Dmitry Shorin’s vibrant artworks infuse the villa with playful energy.
Unified Design Language
What sets the Bionica Villa apart is its unified design ethos. Whether it’s the curvature of a custom shelf, the alignment of marble veining, or the integration of technology into the lifestyle flow, every decision supports a seamless user experience. The layout, materiality, lighting, and even the landscaping were guided by the same vision—biomorphic design that supports mindful, luxurious living.
