A New Chapter for an Iconic Hotel
In the historic center of Milan, steps away from the Duomo Cathedral and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the Park Hyatt Milano Hotel has unveiled newly designed suites by Flaviano Capriotti Architetti. Following his work on the hotel’s acclaimed Mio Lab cocktail bar and Pellico 3 fine dining restaurant, Capriotti extends his vision to the hotel’s signature suites, reaffirming the hotel’s role as one of Milan’s most prestigious destinations.
Concept: Literature, Culture, and Design
The design reflects a dialogue between Milan’s cultural identity and timeless hospitality. Capriotti drew inspiration from Italian post-war design masters—including Franco Albini, Gio Ponti, Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Angelo Mangiarotti, Ignazio Gardella, and Enzo Mari—while introducing a subtle narrative of literature and poetry. The suites become urban sanctuaries, places of quiet sophistication where city life is filtered through a lens of understated elegance.
The Signature Suites: Duomo, Montenapoleone, and Brera
Each of the three suites—Duomo, Montenapoleone, and Brera—shares a design language marked by functional clarity, noble materials, and discreet luxury.
-
Duomo Suite: Positioned on the top floor with a 30 m² terrace overlooking the cathedral’s iconic Madonna statue, the suite features a Jacuzzi and serene outdoor seating. With 130 m² of interior space and an adjoining 40 m² terrace suite, it offers panoramic views and ultimate privacy.
-
Montenapoleone Suite: At 180 m² indoors plus a 35 m² terrace, this suite extends to a total of 260 m² with two bedrooms opening onto terraces. Large veranda-style living spaces blur indoor and outdoor boundaries, perfect for entertaining.
-
Brera Suite: Located on the first floor, this suite emphasizes intimacy while retaining Capriotti’s hallmarks of balance, fine detailing, and warm modernity.
Materials and Atmosphere
The interiors celebrate authentic materials and refined craftsmanship:
-
Dark brushed oak defines the architectural framework.
-
Verde Alpi marble contrasts with wood, creating a dialogue of elegance and solidity.
-
Silk wallpapers in pearl grey recall Milan’s silk-making tradition, paired with Italian blond walnut wainscotting.
-
Neutral tones dominate, punctuated by accents of yellow, orange, and petroleum green—colors rooted in Milan’s cultural palette.
-
Lighting design plays a fundamental role, ensuring soft, shadowed atmospheres that remain invisible yet precise in effect.
Custom-designed furniture sits alongside pieces by Italy’s legendary designers, reinforcing the suites’ cultural narrative.
A Hybrid Space Between Indoors and Outdoors
On the sixth floor, Capriotti introduced a hybrid ceiling of wood, marking the threshold between interior and terrace. These outdoor living rooms, furnished with sofas and lush greenery, extend the experience of Milan’s rooftops into a private, elevated sanctuary.
With these new suites, Park Hyatt Milano continues its tradition of luxury rooted in Milanese culture, offering spaces that combine history, contemporary design, and whispered elegance. Flaviano Capriotti Architetti has crafted interiors that are refined yet timeless, ensuring the hotel remains a landmark of design-led hospitality in the city.
