This elegant three-bedroom apartment in Moscow by Alexander Tischler, completed in 2021, spans 1,485 square feet and was designed for a growing young family. Blending minimalist sophistication with warm functionality, the home balances refined open spaces, quiet private zones, and abundant, cleverly integrated storage.

Tailored Design for a Growing Family
At the project outset, the clients—parents of one child—were planning for a second. The brief called for two separate children’s bedrooms, a master suite with walk-in wardrobe, three bathrooms, a laundry room with storage, and a spacious open-plan kitchen–living area for entertaining. Tischler’s team delivered the full scope—from concept to the production of all custom cabinet furniture.
Elegant Open-Plan Living and Kitchen
The kitchen and living room were merged into a bright great room, organized around a sculptural marble island whose zephyrous-effect porcelain top reads as a seamless monolith. Rex large-format porcelain stoneware continues across the island, backsplash, and counters for a unified, elevated finish.
Key kitchen features:
- Foscarini solid wood pendant lights
- Hob with built-in extractor for a flush, minimal profile
- Niche lighting above the worktop
- Lower drawers and column cupboards (no uppers) to preserve clean sightlines
In the living room, a statement wall of bichromatic Italon ceramic tiles is framed with perimeter lighting. A floating cabinet under the TV conceals electronics, while additional speakers integrate around the sofa and in the ceiling for immersive sound.
The standout move: a visually dynamic accent bookcase with textured dark elements and a porcelain backdrop echoing the kitchen finishes.

Refined Master Suite with Walk-In Wardrobe
The master bedroom carries through the project’s material language—wall panels and bronze matte mirror accents—and opens onto a mullion-free sash window framing balcony views. Custom bedside tables and layered lighting complete a serene palette.
Reimagined from a narrow corridor, the custom dressing room includes:
- Open shirt and trouser rails
- Glass-door wardrobes for long garments
- Drawer units for accessories
- Buffer zone separation between private and public areas
The master bathroom features a built-in shower bench, a motion-activated mirror with integrated lighting, and a laundry basket cabinet that streamlines workflows straight into the utility area.

Adaptable Kids’ Spaces
The children’s rooms were intentionally kept flexible: neutral finishes set the stage for evolving tastes, while magnetic track lighting enables easy future repositioning.
A dedicated children’s walk-in closet provides tailored drawers, shelves, and rails. In the kids’ bathroom, a shower niche, built-in mirror lighting, and a concealed laundry basket keep daily routines organized and visually clean.
Utility and Storage, Thoughtfully Integrated
The guest bathroom remains per the client’s wishes, while both sides of the main hallway are optimized as storage corridors:
- Left: Full-height wardrobe with discreet access panels for electrical and low-voltage systems
- Right: Glass-fronted cabinets for bags and shoes
The laundry room operates as a compact utility hub with a washer and dryer, water heater and filters, stowage for stroller, suitcases, and vacuum, plus a dedicated ironing area sized to fit within custom cabinetry.
