Set within a meticulously landscaped plot in the Spanish capital, the House in Madrid by A-cero is a masterwork of sculptural architecture, bold in scale yet deeply responsive to its environment. With over 30,000 square feet of living space, this home redefines modern luxury through minimalist form, material purity, and a deep connection to nature.

Design: Geometric Clarity and Environmental Sensitivity

A-cero’s vision was to create a residence that harmonizes with the topography, enhancing views while engaging the natural contours of the site. The building unfolds in two strong rectangular volumes, oriented to maximize the visual experience of the surrounding gardens and gently sloping terrain.

“Our goal was to integrate the house into the landscape while framing the extraordinary views,” – A-cero

A defining feature of the home is its use of half-level floors and double-height volumes, providing both visual drama and spatial continuity. Clean lines, expansive glazing, and generous proportions allow the structure to feel monumental, yet rooted.

Program and Flow: Designed Around Lifestyle

The house is organized across three levels, with the main entrance adapted to the site’s natural elevation. Inside, the floor plan caters to comfort, privacy, and elegance, including:

  • Ground floor with entrance hall, living room, kitchen, dining, office, and multiple bedrooms with ensuite baths and dressing rooms

  • Upper and lower levels dedicated to private quarters and service zones

  • Expansive terraces and porches act as transitional zones between interior and exterior

The home’s volumetric projections and flat rooflines give the façade a distinctive personality, reflecting A-cero’s architectural language of functional sculpture.

A House Rooted in Context

A-cero’s commitment to the environmental integration of the home is evident in the lush landscaping, preserved tree lines, and curated garden paths. The home does not impose itself on its context—it grows from it, achieving unity through form, materials, and spatial rhythm.
