SCAW – Sibel Cihan Architecture has designed the Bodrum M.M House, a three-story residence located in the stunning Demirbükü Bay, Bodrum, Turkey. Tailored for a UK-based family, the house reflects user-centered design, sustainability, and refined seaside living.
Context and Design Approach
The design maximizes the natural topography of the seafront site, aligning with environmental sustainability principles. SCAW implemented:

This holistic approach ensures the residence blends harmoniously with its surroundings while providing a peaceful yet vibrant living environment.
Layout and Spatial Planning
The house was designed to support both privacy and communal living:

8 bedrooms, each with minibar, coffee machine, and TV for hotel-like comfort.

Main living room, oriented toward the sea view.

Home cinema, gym, and lounge area on the basement level.

2 staff rooms for full-time service.
A fluid open-plan design replaces heavy partitions, ensuring daylight and sea views flow throughout. The entrance axis frames the panoramic Aegean Sea, seamlessly integrating indoors and outdoors.
Social and Flexible Spaces
Flexibility was key in the design:

The cinema room connects to the gym and lounge area via sliding doors, allowing simultaneous multi-use.

A sunken garden, accessible from the lounge, serves as a cigar lounge—an intimate social retreat.

The dining and living areas maintain transparency, reinforcing family interaction and sea connection.
