Beautiful & Friendly Teenage Bedroom

The teenage bedroom is a special universe in the house. We can no longer say that it is a child’s room. It is also not an adult room since your teenager is trying to appropriate the space and he spends a lot of time there. He sleeps there. He does his homework there. He spends his free time there. And sometimes the bedroom is also the place where friends come to spend time … Therefore, friendliness and comfort play an essential role in decoration. So how do you create a friendly decor in a teenager’s bedroom?

THE ESSENTIAL ROLE OF THE SEATS FOR A CONVIVIAL ROOM

Since this is about conviviality, this implies that there is regularly more than one person in your teenager’s bedroom. And therefore, it is necessary to provide solutions so that friends can sit. As I wrote in my introduction, this type of room is special. We’re going to be halfway between the studio, the living room, and the bedroom. And all this in a limited space. It is, therefore, necessary to choose the seats with particular care.

THE SOFA/BED IN THE TEENAGE BEDROOM

One of the solutions available to you in terms of practical seating for your child’s room is the sofa bed. There are different models which are more or less bulky: the very minimalist futon, the BZ, the sofa bed … In my opinion, the first criterion to take into account before anything else is the quality of the mattress. Even if we seek to create a pleasant universe, the mattress must be suitable for your child so that he has a good night’s sleep. It seems to be the most important before even seeing the decorative/practical aspects. The quality of sleep is paramount, we stay in a room eh!
Then, the sofa/bed is chosen according to its size and its opening mode. Besides, it will be necessary to provide enough space to unfold it without constraint. Even if during the week, the sofa is mainly converted into a bed. On weekends it may be folded down to make it more user-friendly. Even if a coffee table is added, it must be easy to move and not interfere with circulation or even storage in the bedroom.

ARMCHAIRS IN A TEENAGE BEDROOM

If you have a relatively spacious room, you can opt for the bed + armchair set. The bed when it is made can turn into a seat. (It still has to be done, I agree!) And in addition to the bed, you can add one or two armchairs. Some models are not too bulky and which remain comfortable. It should be borne in mind that in a room, it is important not to overload furniture or decoration. Too much is the enemy of restful sleep.

THE EXTRA SEATS IN A TEENAGE BEDROOM

Finally, you can also opt for extra seats to furnish your child’s bedroom. We can think of pears, XXL cushions, floor mattresses or poufs. There is a very wide choice which allows you to choose with your teenager what is most suitable. What is interesting with these solutions is that they are less bulky and that they also move much more easily.

CREATE A PERSONAL AND RELAXING DECORATION AT THE SAME TIME

The nuance, maybe your teenager does not know … And yet in the bedroom, it is essential. You have to find the right balance between wall decoration, decorative objects, and sleep. Even if your teenager is a fan of heavy metal and him/she has covered part of its walls with posters, it is possible to find a balance. With a bed set, a rug and plain curtains for example. In another spirit, there are bohemian atmospheres that appeal to adolescent girls. These are sets that are very loaded with a lot of details. In the living room, it goes very well. In a room, you have to go more slowly. Choose more neutral colors, more boho chic. It is also best to avoid anything that is candles and candle jars. Large wall hangings are more suitable. They will create this sought-after bohemian atmosphere without having to do too much!
