Designed with a perfect blend of contemporary aesthetics and traditional Feng Shui principles, the K.KRIT Residence by WARchitect is a striking private home located on Charoen Krung Road in Bangkoleam, Bangkok, Thailand. This 490 sq.m. residence, designed for a well-known news anchor named Krit, achieves a rare harmony between function, privacy, style, and cultural sensitivity.

A Home That Reflects Personality and Philosophy

The homeowner envisioned a modern, masculine retreat—a space that balances solitude, safety, and social vibrancy, all while strictly adhering to the rules of Feng Shui. WARchitect took this vision seriously, crafting a home layout where every element—from bed orientation to room placement—respects ancient spatial wisdom.

Instead of placing a room over the parking area (which Feng Shui advises against), the architects transformed the carport roof into an outdoor party deck, accessible via an exterior staircase. This solution keeps the floor plan sacred and functionally playful—guests can enjoy rooftop gatherings without stepping into private zones of the home.

In a bold move, the deck also interacts directly with the swimming pool below, inviting spontaneity and fun. Guests can even leap from deck to pool—transforming Feng Shui limitations into architectural opportunities.

Design That Flows With Nature and Family

At the heart of the home lies a multi-functional living room, serving as the connective tissue between family zones. Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors open to reveal a tranquil courtyard with a large tree, swimming pool, and direct views to the adjacent home of Krit’s parents, reinforcing family closeness.

Vertical spatial connections further integrate the architecture. The brother’s room is linked via an open void to a hidden garden balcony tucked behind the facade’s batten screen. In the morning, sunlight filters through the slatted steel, casting dynamic patterns onto interior walls and reflecting off the pool’s surface—a moving light show that energizes the living space.

Privacy Meets Protection Through Facade Design

Following Feng Shui, Krit’s bedroom had to face the front of the property, adjacent to a public road—posing a challenge to privacy and safety. The solution? A custom-designed steel batten facade. This screen doesn’t just offer visual shielding; it also provides a layer of security from the nearby party deck.

The battens vary in depth—deeper and denser toward the street-facing side for protection, while shallower battens on the opposite side allow natural light and exterior views. More than a functional element, this black steel cladding adds a unique, playful personality to the minimalist black box structure, perfectly reflecting Krit’s own vibrant character.
