The celadon green colour has been invading decoration magazines for some time.
Soft and natural, the shade is available to invest in all rooms of the house. On the walls, furniture or accessories, integrate celadon green into your decoration to give a whole new dimension to your living space.
ORIGIN OF THE COLOUR CELADON GREEN
Celadon green is a pale green, oscillating between verdigris and water green, always soft and discreet. More generally, the term “céladon” can be used for any light, powdery, almost pastel shade. The origin of the word celadon goes back to the story of Honoré d’Urfé.
In 1610, he revealed in his pastoral novel “L’Astrée”, a shepherd character named Céladon, who proudly wore many pale green ribbons on his costume. The reference also turns to the Chinese ceramics of Longquan.
Much appreciated in France, pottery comes in this famous shade of green, by adding iron oxide to its glaze. Today, celadon green is becoming extremely trendy again. This natural colour fits perfectly into the current decorative spirit, for its neutral and soothing side.
WITH WHICH COLORS TO ASSOCIATE CELADON GREEN?
Multiple combinations are possible with celadon green, the whole thing being to always enhance it without ever drowning it out. The combination of neutral colours such as white or beige will be perfect, for a peaceful, refined atmosphere.
Close to water mint, the naturalness of celadon green will easily find its place in the middle of decorations putting wood in the spotlight. With light wood for an ultra-bright room, as opposed to dark wood for a controlled contrast.
To create a vegetal atmosphere, celadon green can be combined with other shades of green. Khaki green, darker, or the pep’s of apple green, will come to underline by touches, this muted colour.
Also play on diversity, by daring to integrate a mustard yellow or a soft pink. Both perfectly complement the neighbouring shades of water green, this is also the case with intense blue.
