House RZR by GRBX Arquitetos is a contemporary country residence that merges structural innovation, sustainability, and fluid spatial design. Located in Indaiatuba, São Paulo state, the home reflects the vision of creating a dream retreat that balances privacy with openness, sculptural form with functionality.
A Striking Architectural Composition
The house is defined by the interplay of contrasting forms: a blue entrance box paired with concrete latticework that filters light and shields privacy. These elements establish a layered façade that transitions visitors from the public realm into the protected interior.
At the heart of the design stands a single V-shaped pillar, a sculptural structural feat supporting a 12-meter span. Beyond its engineering brilliance, this bold element draws the eye toward the home’s cantilevered walls and anchors the connection between interior and exterior.
Indoor-Outdoor Fluidity
The ground floor is conceived as a vast, integrated space. Sliding doors dissolve boundaries, merging the living room with gardens, pool, and kitchen. The flooring strategy enhances this continuity: porcelain tiles extend from the pool deck directly into the living room, blurring spatial thresholds. Neutral interior finishes amplify the sense of calm while harmonizing with furniture selected collaboratively with the owners.
Passive Comfort and Environmental Design
House RZR prioritizes thermal comfort and cross ventilation. Cobogó screens and permeable enclosures regulate airflow while maintaining privacy, evoking a Brazilian modernist tradition with a contemporary edge. Skylights in bathrooms and circulation spaces introduce natural light and choreographed shadow play throughout the day.
Green balconies and landscaping not only soften the architecture but also reinforce the integration between built and natural environments. Spaces like the home office and master suite overlook a central tree, bringing nature into the daily experience of the house.
Sustainable Strategies
Sustainability is embedded at every level. The entire roof accommodates solar panels for both water heating and photovoltaic energy generation, designed to remain discreet and preserve the façade’s aesthetic. The garage is equipped for electric vehicle charging, anticipating future mobility needs.
A rainwater collection system stores water in an underground cistern for irrigation and washing, while permeable pavements maintain natural drainage across vehicular and pedestrian areas. Together, these measures reduce environmental impact while ensuring long-term resilience.

Inside, spatial variety enhances the family’s lifestyle. The foyer contrasts low ceilings with soaring exposed concrete volumes in the living room. An office and terrace provide spaces for work and leisure, while the master suite’s integrated bathtub offers a serene view of the courtyard tree. The combination of privacy, openness, and carefully framed views creates a living environment that feels both intimate and expansive.
