A Vision of Tranquility and Luxury
Nestled in the peaceful Sammakorn Village of Bangkok, Thailand, Sleepless Residence is a masterpiece of modern architecture designed by WARchitect. This stunning 570 sq.m. private home was crafted to fulfill the dream of its owner, Narongvit, the Founder & Director of Sleepless Society & Chandelier Music. The goal was clear: to create a resort-like sanctuary, where nature, architecture, and privacy harmoniously coexist.
Panoramic Lake Views & Open Spaces
The defining feature of Sleepless Residence is its breathtaking panoramic view of the lake. Inspired by the tiered design of an amphitheater, the house was meticulously planned to maximize visibility. The open-plan layout allows for uninterrupted sightlines from the bedroom, through the courtyard and living room, straight to the water. This clever spatial arrangement enhances the connection between indoor and outdoor environments while maintaining complete privacy.
A Harmonious Courtyard-Centric Design
At the heart of the residence lies a lush inner courtyard, ensuring that nature is always within sight. This private green space not only fosters tranquility but also serves as a visual buffer from the outside world. Whether composing music in solitude or entertaining guests, the owner enjoys an environment that perfectly balances relaxation and social interaction.
A Unique Approach to Materials & Aesthetics
The design of Sleepless Residence takes inspiration from industrial loft aesthetics combined with refined European vintage elements. The home features custom brickwork, where standard bricks were rotated and arranged vertically, creating a distinctive textural façade. This innovative use of materials elevates the home’s character while maintaining a sleek, contemporary feel.
Climate-Responsive Architecture
To counteract Bangkok’s intense heat, the master bedroom—positioned along the road—was enclosed in a custom brick façade. Designed with angled brickwork, this feature not only enhances ventilation but also shields the interior from excessive sunlight while ensuring maximum privacy. This architectural detail not only serves a functional purpose but adds a striking, sculptural quality to the home’s exterior.
