San Giorgio Hotel by Design Hotels: A Mediterranean Retreat in Mykonos

Perched between the iconic Paradise and Paraga beaches, the San Giorgio Hotel by Design Hotels offers a serene retreat on the stunning island of Mykonos, Greece. With its striking Cycladic architecture and soulful design, this boutique hotel seamlessly blends rustic charm with refined Mediterranean elegance.

Located just a 10-minute drive from both Mykonos National Airport and the lively downtown area, San Giorgio Hotel provides easy access to the island’s vibrant nightlife while preserving an atmosphere of tranquility. Known for its cosmopolitan lifestyle, crystal-clear beaches, and legendary party scene, Mykonos remains one of Greece’s top travel destinations.

Designed with Soul by Lambs&Lions

The interiors of San Giorgio were envisioned by Berlin-based studio Lambs&Lions and completed in 2012. Their design philosophy centers on simplicity, authenticity, and organic materials, resulting in interiors that reflect a sense of grounded luxury.

Each of the 34 rooms, including two spacious suites, showcases a curated selection of handcrafted furniture and natural textures. From whitewashed walls to locally sourced decor, every detail tells a story. The aesthetic leans into bohemian refinement, combining Arcadian treasures, earthy tones, and artisanal craftsmanship to create a deeply personal atmosphere.

Architecture Rooted in Heritage

The hotel’s layout echoes the timeless Mykonian architectural style—a collection of minimal, geometric white buildings arranged around sun-drenched courtyards. The open-plan design allows for flowing sea breezes, ample Aegean light, and seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor living.

All rooms are outfitted with modern amenities, including air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, and contemporary bathrooms with walk-in showers. While the design remains grounded in simplicity, the accommodations offer the comfort of a luxury resort.

Outdoor Living at Its Finest

One of San Giorgio’s highlights is its outdoor veranda and gazebo, perfect for lounging under shaded pergolas or soaking in the sun. The ambiance is intimate yet expansive—ideal for guests seeking relaxation without sacrificing sophistication.

The hotel also offers direct access to Paradise and Paraga beaches, two of the island’s most popular coastal gems, where guests can swim, sunbathe, or enjoy Mykonos’s famous beach bars and clubs.
