A Modern Retreat for a Multigenerational Farmhouse
Set amidst the lush greenery of Chhatarpur, Delhi, The Pool House by UrbanMistrii is a striking 1,800 sq ft extension to a multi-generational farmhouse. Designed as a sanctuary for a family of twelve, this prefabricated retreat balances leisure, sustainability, and architectural finesse.
The vision was rooted in “doing more with less”—creating a contemporary yet timeless space that seamlessly connects with the existing farmhouse and pool, while nurturing family togetherness.
Architecture in Dialogue with Nature
The Pool House blurs the line between indoors and outdoors. Its long, sleek form—clad in glass and metal—reflects the pool, greenery, and main house, creating a harmonious relationship between built and natural environments.
UrbanMistrii employed Light Gauge Steel Frame (LGSF) construction, ensuring minimal environmental disruption while reducing material waste and energy consumption. The method preserved mature trees, enhanced structural durability, and supported a sustainable design ethos.
A dramatic cantilevered roof, tapering from 16 to 11 feet, enhances both form and function. Beyond its sculptural appeal, it supports rainwater harvesting, allowing the property’s lush landscape to thrive year-round.
Day-to-Night Transformation
By day, The Pool House reflects its verdant surroundings, blending into the farmhouse landscape. By night, it transforms into a glowing beacon, its glass façade illuminated from within, creating an atmospheric centerpiece for family gatherings.
This duality—subtle in daylight, luminous at night—defines the structure’s unique character.
Interiors: Understated Luxury
Inside, the design embraces restraint and warmth. The material palette—beige stone floors, light-hued textured walls, and a wood-slatted ceiling—establishes a serene environment.

The Pool House has become more than an architectural addition—it is the heartbeat of the farmhouse. From movie nights and board games to quiet reflection, the flexible design supports both communal celebrations and private moments.
