Tham & Videgard

Tham & Videgård Arkitekter is a prominent Stockholm-based architectural firm founded in 1999 by Swedish architects Bolle Tham and Martin Videgård. Both graduates of the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Tham and Videgård have built a reputation for their distinct design language rooted in Scandinavian minimalism, environmental awareness, and conceptual clarity.

The studio is recognized for its strong conceptual approach, often exploring the relationship between architecture, landscape, and light. Their work is marked by precision, bold form-making, and a consistent effort to create buildings that are both functionally efficient and emotionally resonant. Material honesty, spatial simplicity, and an integration with natural surroundings are core values in their design process.

Tham & Videgård are also noted for their academic contributions. They have taught and lectured at internationally acclaimed institutions such as Harvard Graduate School of Design, ETH Zurich, and the Architectural Association in London. Their engagement in architectural discourse has positioned them as influential voices in contemporary architecture, particularly in the context of Nordic design.

The firm has received numerous awards and recognitions, and in 2016, both founders were elected members of the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts. Tham & Videgård continue to push the boundaries of architectural expression while remaining deeply committed to craftsmanship, sustainability, and cultural relevance.
