In 2023, the interiors are sculpted in the literal sense of the term. Wavy, striated, grooved, or as if cut into small slender pieces, our walls, and our furniture take on a unique relief. Almost giving the impression of being engraved on the surface or suggesting linear assemblies, the coverings of the season add a surprising texture to our walls, relegating traditional wallpapers and brushstrokes to the rank of hackneyed outsiders.
Give relief to your decor with the fluted trend
With their “Rombini” collection for the Italian publishing house Mutina, the Bouroullec brothers had gently brought the trend towards three-dimensional wall coverings. In 2015, the designer duo returned to ceramics and unveiled a range of triangular tiles whose architectural aesthetic once again demonstrated the undeniable charisma of this vibrant medium. Today, the tiled wall and more particularly endowed with relief has gone so far as to become an ornamental ally cut to magnify contemporary interiors.
It is enough to search for #flutedwall (understand fluted wall) on any social network to measure the extent of the phenomenon and see the number of interior designers who try their hand at designing walls covered with panels striated borrowing the affirmed vocabulary of the Corinthian order.
Where to install a corrugated panel?
Appreciated in an almost tactile mineral palette or dressed in more flamboyant shades, in wooden panels, striated concrete, or undulating tiles, the fluted wall halos the spaces it occupies with a striking decorative potential. From the walls of a bathroom to the central island of a kitchen, passing by the headboard of a bedroom and the base of a living room.
