Luxury and Irreverence Defining Eclectic Apartment in Brazil

Architect Henrique Steyer, from Albus Design envisioned an intriguing home in Porto Alegre, southern Brazil: “In our latest project, I allied top international furniture with a series of French antique pieces to confer luxury and irreverence to this apartment. The owners, a young couple used to traveling around the world, and therefore with a rich repertoire of cultural references, wished a distinguished decoration, free from trends and open to the best in world design.

Unusual elements, like pink curtains and impacting artworks make this project with cosmopolitan essence into a very singular one. Top sofas and couches from the italian Flexform combine with classic items from brands like Poliform and Flos. Contrasting with the contemporary language of the project, a series of antique french furniture completes the decor. In the living room, italian sofas share space with a pair of table lamps by Achille Castiglioni for Flos, and with a dragon sculpture by Lalique. By the dining room, an acrylic side table with italian golden stools serve as support for the barbecue pit. The highlight of this room is the Zeppelin Lamp, designed by Marcel Wanders for Flos. In the hall, the gold-plated door is accompanied by an imposing french mirror next to the elevator.
