Atelier Daniel Florez

Atelier Daniel Florez is an architecture practice founded by Daniel Fernández Flórez. He earned his degree with highest distinction after studying at E.T.S.A. Madrid and EPFL Lausanne. After early work in Paris with R&Sie(n) and in Basel and across Europe with Herzog & de Meuron, Daniel established his own office in northeastern Brazil in 2014.

They design with deep respect for sustainability, landscape, and context. Their work spans both Brazil and Spain, combining rigorous architectural thinking with sensitivity to environment and materiality. They are known for innovative methods, decarbonized construction strategies, and high levels of craft.

The studio has been recognized internationally: Wallpaper named one of their collaborations (Vilea Florez) among emerging practices; multiple projects shortlisted for prestigious awards including the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize; accolades for houses built in rural contexts; and frequent features in top architecture and design media.

Atelier Daniel Florez undertakes each project as an opportunity to merge bold design ideas with ethical, environmental responsibility—crafting architecture that is expressive, beautiful, but also grounded, sustainable, and deeply rooted in its place.
