How To Choose Well The Perfect Baby Room Color

Girl or boy? This is the question we ask ourselves with each new birth. Indeed, the work very often ensues from it. Thus, selecting the right baby room color is not an easy task.

This is why we decided to write you an article specially dedicated to the colors that you can use. Bright, soft, soothing, and relaxing shades, the idea is to create a true haven of peace for your infant! So let your imagination run wild. Paint, wallpaper, wall stickers, or stickers, do not limit yourself. However, beware of too-rich universes that can drift towards a carnivalesque atmosphere.

Whether in terms of colors, design of furniture, or accessories, finish the so-called “girl/boy” decorations, let’s now move on to unisex decorations! Yes, soft, pastel, or spicy shades, let’s rethink the decoration of infants with the help of new associations.

Baby room color with soft and poetic atmospheres

The first golden rules

Furnishing a newborn’s room is not an easy task, especially when we are young parents. Nevertheless, with a few basic rules, tips, and decorative inspirations, furnishing and choosing the right color for the baby’s room becomes child’s play!

Priority: think about the well-being of the newborn first! Indeed, this room must remain a comfortable and reassuring universe so that he can feel comfortable and safe. The same goes for the type of products and paint you use, but we’ll talk about that in more detail later in the article.

Second priority: take into account the surface and the luminosity of the room. Therefore, adapt the interior decoration according to its structure to create optical effects. For example, if your future child’s room has a relatively small area, then adopt light and bright tones to reflect natural rays. Also, incorporate horizontal or vertical stripes of paint. They are indeed an excellent idea to offer a widening effect to your room.

Carefully selected pastel tones

In terms of colors, there are different marriages and possible colors. Regarding this first part, we will mainly focus on soft tones, such as pastel colors. Moreover, prefer to place soft and soothing colors all around the cradle, to provide a reassuring, cozy, and cocooning atmosphere.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of “baby room colors” that you can use for a soft and bucolic bedroom:

  • Powder pink, blush pink
  • Sky blue
  • Water green, mint green, jade green, khaki green
  • Pearl grey
  • Mole
  • Beige
  • White, off-white
  • Ecru

There are of course many other shades, but here are the most common. Finally, by adopting a matte finish, the decoration will appear all the more relaxing and warm than glossy finishes.

One of the combinations I like the most is pastel pink and pearl gray. I find that these last two merge perfectly. The clarity of the powdery pink counterbalances the slightly pale aspect of the pearl grey, thus providing a soft atmosphere.
