Chic and Minimalist Home in California – House Tour

With views out over the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains this home makes the perfect site for a dream project that came to life. This is one of those houses that redefine Southern California style, which is a home that would represent more minimal aesthetics. The home felt like a new chapter to the popular owners Nancy and Bruce Newberg and it has been envisioned as a place where you can call it an adult home. There is space to it to entertain your friends and have beautiful family house ins.

Wanting fabulous textiles and wonderful steel-framed windows and doors so they can allow lots of sunlight into the space isn’t too much to ask when it comes to perfecting your own sanctuary. The owners wanted simpler and almost monastic kind of interior so the interior designer Kathryn M. Ireland did all that. They took the elegance and simplicity of Vervoordt‘s influential style and channeled into that style for the home.

The one thing that the designer Ireland was certain for is that anything minimalistic had to be of the highest quality. Ireland and her client Newberg traveled together to France, Stockholm, and Italy to shop the flea markets of Paris and the antiques fair in Parma for ceramics, artworks & furniture.

The finishing touches of color were added to the creamy palette, from the tie-dyed pillows in the living room handmade in Suffolk, England, to the atmospheric greenish-blue palette of the library. So, even if it’s just pops the home needed some color, so the landscape designer Stephen Block brought in mature olive and oak trees which lend a sense of history to the house. The satisfy Nancy Newberg says that people are still not sure if the house is new or not, which is something that she really wanted to hear.
