HOW TO UPDATE OLD-FASHIONED TILES AND TILES?

Ceramic “Velcro-type”

If you read Velcro, you will surely locate it better than Cristalgrip. And this second one is a specific type of material, similar to Velcro, with a specific hold and grip that allows new titles to be placed on top of existing ones. Keep in mind that the wall is thickened and for its application, the existing tile must be in good condition and be completely smooth .

With Chalk Paint

It works for everything! But beware, this type of chalk paint, when it comes to covering tiles or decorating them, must be the specific Versante line. It is also recommended to apply a previous coat of primer base. This paint does not provide practically an odor (unlike enamels). It is available in a very nice range of colors so that the tiles are not just white. Or so you can decorate as you imagine ones with a neutral base.

With enamel

Enamel is a type of paint that works very well in kitchens and bathrooms, rooms where there is humidity and contact with water. It is a solution to renovate and update tiles without work because there is no need to chip or remove debris. The process involves thoroughly cleaning the base, including joints, and then applying the glaze. And those joints will always be visible, but they will be painted in the same color unless you later decide to give them a different finish than the tiles. Any enamel perfectly adheres to the surface. There is a very wide range of shades in a matte or gloss finish. The latter provides a vitrified effect that can be ideal for your new style.

Epoxy resin on the floor and epoxy paint on tiles on walls

With a technique similar to that of microcement in terms of direct application on the floor tiles, epoxy resin is waterproof. The product is made up of two components that are mixed and poured onto the surface. It is then spread leveled and left to dry. And for the tiles, when it comes to updating them without works, there is epoxy paint, which is again applied to them after a specific cleaning. An advantage is that there are no brush strokes left in their application and they do not require a previous layer of primer.

Ceramic and synthetic materials and large format natural stone

This is a high-priced solution but with a total transformation result. You can cover all tiled walls with XXL size sheets of ceramic, synthetic natural, or sintered stone materials. With the same idea that is applied to kitchen backsplashes or sills, it is possible to cover entire walls with large formats.
