A Refined Minimalist Haven for a Mother and Daughter

In the residential complex Zarechye, near the innovation hub of Skolkovo, designer Ekaterina Fedorovskaya completed a light-filled 350 m² apartment for a mother and her ten-year-old daughter. Working from the pre-finishing stage and without changing the layout, the designer achieved a complete realization of the project in record time—just six months—thanks in part to collaboration with the furniture outfitting partner 1.618 space.

The client’s dream was clear: a spacious, elegant home with a marble dining table and a large upholstered bed with a statement headboard. Fedorovskaya brought both ideas to life, creating a harmonious interior where refined materials, soft textures, and curated design pieces form a balanced, tranquil environment.

A Light-Filled Living Space

The open-plan living and dining area forms the emotional heart of the apartment. Here, a generous oval marble table by Vibieffe anchors family gatherings, while an inviting Yang sofa by Rodolfo Dordoni for Minotti and Arrangements rings by Michael Anastassiades for Flos create sculptural composition and warmth.

Natural light pours in through panoramic windows, illuminating pale walls, airy curtains, and subtle gray undertones that expand the perception of space. The interplay between daylight and texture brings serenity and balance—central to Fedorovskaya’s design language.

Thoughtful Functionality and Elegant Storage

Functionality was approached with precision. The designer created a spacious walk-in wardrobe, integrated custom cosmetic storage in the master bathroom, and designed a comfortable home office for the daughter’s lessons. Every corner was optimized for daily convenience, preserving the apartment’s clean, open aesthetic.

A collaboration with decorator Daria Soboleva resulted in a refined display of family photographs—an elegant wall composition that adds warmth without clutter.

Curated Art and Design Details

The interior’s visual rhythm is punctuated by carefully chosen works of contemporary art and design: a vibrant painting by Ekaterina Pugacheva (Art Brut Moscow), black-and-white graphics by Maria Budushchikh, and sculptural ceramics by Svetlana Levadnaya.
In the kitchen, Studio Piet Boon stools add architectural precision, while accessories by GK Concept bring tactile sophistication.

Every room reflects a subtle play between Nordic restraint and Mediterranean warmth—white and beige tones complemented by the texture of natural wood, smooth plaster, and soft textiles.

Private Spaces with Character

In the master bedroom, the designer combined Italian craftsmanship with custom-made furniture. The Creed bed by Rodolfo Dordoni for Minotti, paired with Meridiani nightstands and GamFratesi’s Angie chairs, defines an atmosphere of calm elegance.
The daughter’s bedroom, on the other hand, radiates playfulness and comfort, featuring bespoke furniture from Dreamma.ru and expressive artworks by Daria Dmitrieva.

A sense of continuity flows through each space—from the minimalist bathroom in white stone and soft light to the entrance hall furnished with rotating Arketipo chairs. The apartment unites art, comfort, and refined simplicity.

A Modern Russian Interpretation of Family Minimalism

Ekaterina Fedorovskaya’s project proves that minimalism can be emotional and deeply personal. Through subtle color, proportion, and thoughtful detailing, she created a home that is bright yet intimate, modern yet timeless—a place where art and everyday life coexist naturally.
